Kilpatrick invests in Start-up Bakery
By Cristina Spagna | Managing Director Kilpatrick Alessandro Arrigo | CEO & Founder Start-up Bakery
We are pleased to announce that our Managing Director Cristina Spagna has joined Startup Bakery as an Advisor bringing her expertise in HR and Talent Acquisition to the company structure. Startup Bakery was born in February 2020 from an idea of a group of startupper entrepreneurs, who along their path have founded, cultivated and then sold successful initiatives.
This is the first Italian startup studio specializing in B2B software as a service (SaaS) companies with a strong Artificial Intelligence drive. The goal is to help founders, companies and entrepreneurs to innovate and express their potential.
We asked those directly involved how the decision to collaborate on this project and combine their skills to support potential entrepreneurs was born. Alessandro what is the Startup Bakery model?
Our model foresees the establishment of a defined and limited number of companies (12 in 5 years), but with attention to the smallest details. For this reason, unlike incubators or accelerators, we are the startup that we co-found: me, my partner and COO Angelo Cavallini, our CTO Flora Giannone and the entire team of internal resources, Advisor and Mentor build the foundations from scratch of every initiative. And we do it starting from the selection of who will be the CEO, or our co-founder. Indeed, before developing the startup, we thoroughly analyze the market, assisted by our proprietary artificial intelligence software, to understand in which business niche there are greater needs, expansion and exit opportunities.
Startup Bakery is a startup studio dedicated to the sale of the initiatives it creates, as we believe that this is the only way to bring true innovation to the companies that will acquire our startups, while benefiting investors who have believed in the project and transferring the correct way of doing business to our co-founders and CEOs on the job.
It is precisely the potential entrepreneurs, our co-founders, who represent the heart of our whole project. In an era in which the role of Artificial Intelligence is magnified, we highlight Natural Intelligence, to which we provide all the useful tools to emerge, obviously including Artificial Intelligence tools, which however only act as enablers and enhancers of a complex but exciting path and made more accessible by the presence of Startup Bakery.
To do this we have also aggregated a large number of high profiles, almost all of them entrepreneurs themselves, who act as Advisors and possess the most diverse skills, available to Startup Bakery and the co-founders of all the developing startups: from legal to marketing, from finance to user experience (an area in which we strongly believe, so much so that we founded our own UX agency: www.donux.com), from IT to HR.
What prompted you to identify Cristina Spagna as the trusted Advisor for the HR area of Startup Bakery?
The Human Resources area is, for what has been said, particularly important and delicate and for this reason we asked a figure of great experience and authority like Cristina Spagna to help us manage it better. Cristina immediately understood our model and as an entrepreneur she understood its great potential. We were immediately aligned on the vision of the Startup Bakery project, reinforced by the fact that with Kilpatrick she had already had the opportunity to face the challenge of finding entrepreneurial profiles. After appreciating Kilpatrick’s approach to the selection of human resources, I am therefore very happy that the conditions for Cristina’s entry into the company have been met.
As Advisor she will operate in a holocratic core also composed of two other important figures in the HR panorama: Matteo Cocciardo of In-Recruiting, as HR Tech Advisor and Simona Fabrizi, coming from Indeed and now HR Manager of Startup Bakery.
I thank Cristina for placing her trust in Startup Bakery’s innovation model, certain that this is the beginning of a long and fruitful collaboration.
Cristina what prompted you to join the Startup Bakery corporate structure?
The meeting with Alessandro and the rest of the Startup Bakery team was a source of inspiration and stimulated a strong interest in me in making my contribution to innovative startups and enlightened entrepreneurs. The Startup Bakery model is efficient and innovative and allows new businesses to be built in series, reducing the risk of bankruptcy.
I myself come from an entrepreneurial experience and have accompanied the growth of Kilpatrick in its internationalization and digitization and I consider the network to be fundamental to facilitate the growth of a company. Giving my contribution to the development of innovative start-up companies can also be a winning asset for our clients who can identify in them the right technological push for their future growth. I think it is the right time to put ourselves at the service not only of my company, but also of other realities where the topic of “people” is the real challenge.
Kilpatrick has chosen the digitization as the fil rouge for its future growth. Kilpatrick Digital is in fact part of our executive search process and my company is always ready to understand the trends of the future and to ride the opportunities at an international level.
Being part of the Startup Bakery Advisors Team will allow me and Kilpatrick to always have access to a constructive and stimulating comparison with the high profiles identified by Alessandro and Angelo to support their startups with an eye to the future.
I thank Alessandro and Angelo for choosing me to be part of this beautiful project and I am also sure that it is only the beginning of a long and brilliant collaboration.
